Prone to leave the God I love

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness like a fettor
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee;
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

Robert Robinson (1735-1790)

It is mind boggling how no matter how much God shows His love to me, I still want to run from Him and do things my own way. I am so grateful for the fact that no matter how much I mess up and run from Him, He is still going to welcome me back. That is what is so amazing how about His grace!

"Prone to wander"
i love these lyrics, that one in particular.
It's a summation of the human condition in three words.
